Dave
Munger
Given
his own lofty assessment of his talents, Dave Munger hasn't accomplished
nearly what he thinks he's capable of. His published works, which
include college textbooks and newspaper articles, have frequently
been the subjects of effusive praise (especially by the author).
Dave seeks to continue that tradition at the WordMunger Web site
by presenting writing with characteristic cocky self-assurance.
Whether his writing reveals his self-described "sharp wit"
and "keen analytical mind" is a matter of opinion.
Buoyed
by an inflated confidence in his writing skills, Dave tossed away
nine years of work building a moderately successful editing and
design firm to pursue a career as a writer. After spending "over
an hour" perfecting a style he has termed "sheer genius,"
Dave launched the WordMunger site in January of 2001 to showcase
his work.
Dave
is committed to writing a new column for WordMunger as a free public
service "every so often, or until someone offers me big bucks
for syndication rights." Though currently pursuing several
other projects, Dave is "not above setting them aside to do
a high-profile sitcom or screenplay." He is, however, unwavering
in his demand to continue to work at home: he feels it is important
to be near his children (and his big-screen TV, and his espresso
machine, and his refrigerator).
Never
one to back away from shameless self-promotion, Dave has posted
his resume here.
